Highlander Reborn is Laura Hunsaker's first paranormal romance release. And she definitely rocked it like a pro.
I was one of the lucky ones who read this story before the editing process, and even then it drew me in and made me want more.
Although Highlander Reborn doesn't have a great deal of Highlander-ish content due to the story starting in 1304 then quickly fast-tracking to the present. Nevil still falls back on his sexy Highlander brogue in highly emotional moments. Oh. So. Yummy. So there isn't a lot of kilt wearing, but there is definitely a lot of swooning when he talks.
In such a short story you gain an emotional attachment to Nevil and Amalia. Nevil has the broody, alpha-male, protective hero down pat and Amalia is a strong heroine that takes no crap.
The ending also gave me something to look forward to. I'm not sure if L.H. plans on continuing this series, but it sure sounds like it from the way the story ended *squee*
If you haven't read anything by the awesomely talented Laura Hunsaker, then this is a great way to get a taste of what you've been missing.
