Today we are welcoming a new author to Riverina Romantics, please make Cindy feel welcome.
Please tell our followers a little about yourself. What is a typical day in the life of ‘Cindy Meyers’?
I think the thing about life for most of us is there are no typical days. Every week has its share of chaos to mix up our plans. But I usually start the day with a cup of tea in bed. I write on my WIP for an hour or so and answer email. Then I either walk the dogs around the neighborhood or head to the gym for a Zumba class. I teach writing and also write nonfiction for magazines and websites, so the next four or five hours are spent on those tasks. Then I can usually get in another hour or so on the WIP before dinner. In the evenings I like to read and work on promo stuff or mess around online. Of course, I have to fit in shopping and dentist's appointments and cleaning house and all that stuff too. I'd get so much more done if I had a wife!
What has been the hardest emotionally or time consuming thing you’ve had to research for one of your stories?
Historical research can be time-consuming, but that's mainly because it's so easy to get lost in the research. To write West With the Wind I read a bunch of first-hand accounts of the wagon journey west, written by women in the form of diaries or collections of letters they wrote to family back East. Fascinating!
I also read a lot about Native American tribes, customs and language.
Have any of your characters resembled people in real life?
I don't usually base my characters on any one person. However, Worthy, the dog in West With the Wind, is based on a German Shepherd Dog my husband and I had when we first married.
Quickie Question Round
Sexiest feature in a man? A sense of humor
If you were deserted on an island and could only have one man with you – who would it be (no significant others allowed)?
No hubby, huh? Then I'd pick my brother. He is so hilarious and thoughtful -- and he knows how to do stuff, so he'd build a raft or a radio or something to rescue us!
Or if we're talking fantasy guy -- George Clooney!
Tell us something on your bucket list.

BLURB:
More than gold awaits two lovers at the end of the trail.
Mariah Tate and her dog, Worthy, persuade veteran guide Campbell Jefferson to let them join his expedition headed to California. Camp can't say no to the beautiful widow, but his need to protect her soon clashes with her need to keep secrets. Mariah left more than bad memories behind in Pennsylvania and her growing attraction to the stoic but surprisingly sensitive Camp forces her to face up to the consequences of the choices she's made. Camp doesn't know what Mariah's hiding, but he's determined not to let the only woman who ever made him want to settle down get away. He pursues her across the prairies, through stampedes, Indian raids, desert drought and mountain snows. In the gold camps of California, Camp will discover Mariah's secret, and prove the love she wants most isn't out of reach.

The history in West with the Wind fascinated me! It made the story's setting absolutely come to life and almost served as another character. Those folks endured some hellish hardships! And I loved the book! Mariah and Camp were a great couple and the tension between them was both historically satisfying and just satisfying in general! Wink! Win this book! Or just go buy it!
